NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY
An Honor Society student must demonstrate character by meeting school and community responsibilities: model high standards of honesty and reliability, show concern for others, and take criticism willingly and graciously. Students should also promote positive leadership in classroom and extracurricular activities as well as exhibit a willingness to render service to both school and community.
To be considered for acceptance in this selective program, you must complete the application found at this link (National Honor Society Application - 2021) . Be advised, you can only complete this application through your MPSD.NJ account. This application is comprised of an essay prompt, the Attestation of Character form, and the Leadership and Service Affidavit form.
All applications should be submitted through the Google Form on March 1, 2021.
The completion of this information does not automatically assure admittance
to NHS. Falsification of information will result in automatic disqualification.
A committee composed of Montclair High School faculty will review all the information provided, and if deemed necessary, request to meet with you. You are certainly commended for attaining your high scholastic average, but please understand that membership in the National Honor Society is based upon all of the criteria mentioned above. The decisions will be emailed in early April.
Information regarding induction rehearsal and ceremony for new members will come at a later date.
