Freshman Seminars
The Department of School Counseling is excited to announce Freshman Seminars. Our team of counselors along with student assistance counselors and Restorative Justice staff will be presenting an array of topics that address the whole student. The offerings will be available to freshmen during study halls starting on Monday, April 12, and going through Wednesday, June 2. Freshmen are invited and encouraged to attend during their study hall or study skills period. Each of the eight topics will be presented to each study hall. The topics are:
- Study Skills and Organization
- Graduation Requirements, GPA, and Four-Year Plans
- Naviance: Learning Style Inventory
- College and Career/Naviance Search
- Self-Awareness and Self-Regulation (with 15 min for Mindfulness)
- Restorative Justice
- Relationship Building and Social Media Use
- Substance Use
Students will get to meet different counselors and MHS staff each week. This is a great opportunity for Freshmen to check-in, get important information, and learn more about themselves and Montclair High School. See you after spring vacation!
